The Mr H Family Emporium II

Hamilton / Robinson Family Tree – the sequel

THE EDGE OF FOREVER

THE EDGE OF FOREVER

Blackness, spilling over into nothing

Boiling up, seething

Nothing

Forever is darkness

Oppressive darkness, pressing down

A silent rumble

Pierces the dark, rising to a shriek

A sharp pain

Contrasting shades of darkness

The key fits the lock

The door opens

Step through

Falling over the edge of forever

No bottom

No top

The black rushes past at the speed of light

Or would do

Forever

Never

Will forever be yesterday

It will always be tomorrow

And tomorrow never comes

Tomorrow, yesterday, time

An illusion created

To bring scope and perspective

Falling over the edge of forever

Ten years, a hundred years

A thousand years, a million years

A drop in the ocean of eternity

Eternal life

Eternal death

Eternal suspension on the thread of life

Never living, never dying

Forever falling

Life?

Death?

Meaningless

Falling over the edge of forever

See nothing, hear nothing

Except the silent scream

Of nothing
